MIAMI – More than 200 PGA Tour professionals played with SST PURE® aligned shafts last season, and now the process is being offered by one of the game’s best-known instructors. The Jim McLean Golf School has become an SST PURE Shaft Alignment licensee, which will allow students at his Doral Golf Resort and Spa school in Miami, Fla., to have access to the game’s most advanced shaft alignment technology.

”There are not many bigger names in the golf instruction field than Jim McLean,” SST founder Dick Weiss said. “We are thrilled that Jim feels so strongly about SST PURE that he is choosing to offer it to his students.”

The McLean school at Doral has been named the No. 1 golf school in America by U.S World and News Report, CNN and Travel and Leisure Magazine.

“We want to offer our students the best instruction and technology in the game today,” McLean said. “We feel that SST PURE shaft alignment lets us build the best-performing clubs possible, and that makes our job easier as instructors.”

Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft-alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft’s most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its PURE orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves up to 51 percent. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts — steel or graphite — from most major manufacturers.

The patented SST PURE process of club assembly — deemed in compliance with USGA standards — locates each shaft’s irregularities and aligns the shaft to neutralize them, so that each club bends in the direction it should — straight down the target line. Upon having his shafts SST PURE aligned, a player receives a personalized computer printout confirming the process and an SST PURE shaft label for every shaft that has been PUREd.
