SST PURE® now available in the home of golf
February 9, 2006
MIAMI – SST PURE Shaft Alignment has expanded to the homeland of golf with the addition of new licensee Golf Matters in Glasgow, Scotland.
Owned and operated by veteran clubbuilder Gordon Rennie, Golf Matters has made a commitment to offering state-of-the-art clubmaking technology to its clientele. The Scottish clubmakers are the first in a coming wave of new SST PURE licensees throughout the United Kingdom.
“I have been building golf clubs for many years, but the SST PURE technology allows us to make better-performing clubs than ever before,” Rennie said.
SST PURE Shaft Alignment is used by more than 200 players on the PGA Tour and is available through a network of custom clubmakers and manufacturers throughout the United States and internationally.
“The addition of Golf Matters in Scotland to our licensee network is an indication of the worldwide demand for this technology,” SST founder Dick Weiss said. “On a personal level, as a lifelong golfer I am especially proud to have an SST PURE representative in the country that gave us this great game.”
Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft-alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft’s most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its PURE orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves up to 51 percent. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts — steel or graphite — from most major manufacturers.
Headquartered in Miami, Strategic Shaft Technologies, LC, was founded by clubmaker Dick Weiss, who was the creator of the SST PURE® process.
The patented SST PURE process of club assembly — deemed in compliance with USGA standards — locates each shaft’s irregularities and aligns the shaft to neutralize them, so that each club bends in the direction it should — straight down the target line. Upon having his shafts SST PURE aligned, a player receives a personalized computer printout confirming the process and an SST PURE shaft label for every shaft that has been PUREd. The SST PURE process of golf shaft alignment is available at SST PURE licensees around the United States and internationally.
