JUPITER, Fla. — The legendary Arnold Palmer became the first professional golfer to have clubs PUREd on the new SST PURE Automated System, which was unveiled on Tour this month at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Fla.

After 10 years on Tour with a manual computerized system, the new automated PUREing system completes SST's proprietary shaft alignment process in approximately 30 seconds. This new system was designed to deliver the speed necessary to offer SST PURE to a mass production environment.

Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE® shaft alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft’s most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its SST PURE® orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves by up to 51 percent. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts — steel or graphite — from all major manufacturers.
