MIAMI — For SST PURE®, the PGA Tour’s only shaft alignment process deemed in compliance with USGA standards, the HP Classic of New Orleans was a ‘Big Easy’ demonstration of shaft performance and professional preference. Eight of the top 10 finishers this weekend at the English Turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans were among more than 160 PGA Tour players who in the past couple of years have chosen to play shafts aligned by the SST PURE method. In addition, players who have used SST PURE technology won more than $4 million this weekend on the PGA, LPGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours.

Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft’s most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its PURE orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves up to 51 percent. The process, which has been utilized by more than 160 PGA TOUR players, can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts — steel or graphite — from most major manufacturers.

Upon having shafts SST PURE aligned, golfers receive a personalized, computer printout confirming the process and an SST PURE shaft label for every shaft PUREd. The SST PURE process of golf shaft alignment is available at SST PURE licensees around the world.
