MIAMI — The SST PURE® patented shaft-alignment process currently embraced by more 200 professional golfers on the PGA, Champions and European Tours is now available in Fort Worth, Texas — the golf-rich city home to Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson. Strategic Shaft Technologies announced today the addition of Golf Etc. Fort Worth and Golf Etc. Granbury (Texas) as its newest licensees to offer premium custom clubfitting service and SST PURE® shaft-alignment.

The Golf Etc. locations in Fort Worth and Granbury are 3,000-square-foot and 4,000-square-foot facilities, respectively, and both offer complete golf retail and custom-fitting services. In addition to the SST PURE technology, Golf Etc. Fort Worth features a netted hitting area equipped with a Focaltron Golf Achiever Launch Monitor which provides a full analysis of clubfitting data such as ball speed, launch angle and backspin data. The Granbury location features a computer-simulation room in which a golfer hits a ball toward a large video screen. Upon impact, the ball’s trajectory, flight characteristics and distance are immediately calculated and incorporated into the video presentation, so the golfer can actually experience a full simulation of his/her golf shot.

The Golf Etc. staff includes a life-time PGA member, a former quality control manager with Hogan Golf, and a graduate of the Professional Golfers Career College with a combined 45 years of clubmaking and custom-fitting experience. The Golf Etc. locations in Fort Worth and Granbury join more than two dozen licensed SST PURE distributors in the United States and Europe.

Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft’s most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its PURE orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves up to 51 percent. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts — steel or graphite — from most major manufacturers.
