CHICAGO – Golfers along the North Shore of Chicago will soon be taking advantage of SST PURE®, the same shaft-alignment technology more than 200 PGA golfers rely on to optimize performance, distance and control. Strategic Shaft Technologies has announced that Dennis Piant will feature the patented shaft-alignment process at his new store, Performance Fit Golf, North Shore’s Most Advanced Fitting Studio.

The new Performance Fit Golf will be the North Shore’s destination for custom-fitting original equipment manufacturers’ (OEM) clubs using cutting-edge shaft technology. The store opens June 30th in Highland Park, Ill., an upscale bedroom community about 25 miles north of Chicago where multi-million dollar estates are owned by such notables as Oprah Winfrey and Michael Jordon.

“Performance Fit Golf will be joining two other SST PURE-licensed custom clubmaking shops in the region,” says Dick Weiss, owner and founder of the SST PURE shaft-alignment process. “Along with our locations in Winfield and Willowbrook, each about an hour away from one another, Strategic Shaft Technologies can now serve the entire Chicagoland area. I’m delighted Dennis is joining our network.”

Performance Fit will feature two fitting suites, equipped with Swing Dynamics Ball Flight Monitor to analyze every aspect of the customer’s swing, shaft and club. That data will then be downloaded into Hotstix Technology Shaft Fitting software based on robotic testing of huge numbers of clubs. The monitor precisely measures distance, launch angle, spin rates, deviation, ball speed, club head speed and gives a power transfer index, a ratio of ball speed to clubhead speed. The Hotstix program then calculates the data and makes a recommendation as to the precise shaft specifications that an individual golfer needs. Whether a new OEM club or a complete retrofit of an existing club is recommended, the selected clubs go through the PURE process to eliminate any and all shaft irregularities before the final club is built.

Custom-fitting clubs for 15 years, Piant says their customers are really coming to Performance Fit Golf for the experience of being measured on the most sophisticated fitting system available and then having their golf clubs built to those exact specifications.

“The customer walks out of the door with the golf club they want built to their own specifications,” says Piant. “So they walk out the door with a truly custom-made golf club that performs to the maximum ability of the chosen components.”

Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft’s most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its PURE orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves up to 51 percent. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts — steel or graphite — from most major manufacturers.
